Verbal Tapestries: Halloween Edition

Its Friday night October 22nd, I’m sitting at home looking out the window seeing a thunderstorm grow more intensely by the second, but yet I still have the urge to go out and see what going on around town. I look on NWAspotlite.com and notice Verbal Tapestries which is a showcase of local talents in various art forms such as singing, poetry, rap, instruments and any other art form.

As I walk in the door of Aloft of Rogers I see that numerous people all staring intensely at the stage at one of the many talents of the
night. I instantly have a great vibe about coming to this event. The atmosphere was warm with the dim lights despite the heavy rain pouring down right outside the doors. I walk in and find a seat and begin to listen to the poems and songs that are being preformed by the local talents of Northwest Arkansas. Being so close to each performer I truly had the sense that I knew exactly where they were coming from in there art. I could feel there intensity about what they were doing. As each performer takes there seat they are welcomed with a warm pleasing applause. After all of the performance were done then the party started which involved dancing and tons of great music.

Over all this was a great night despite the rain. I was able to get out the house and enjoy some local talent. I was able to meet and mingle with a lot of friends and co-workers. I look forward to going to the next event and seeing what other talents we have in our community.
